Mutant traits are structural, so these plants grow and are trained differently from anything else in the catalog.
ABC has thick succulent-like leaves; fern-leaf FreakShow lines look nothing like cannabis. Neither affects potency — they affect light penetration and airflow.
Compact mutants need less defoliation than a standard plant because their leaves already let light through. Over-defoliating them costs yield.
Mutant traits do not always express fully in every seedling. Grow more than one if you specifically want the phenotype in the photos.
These are small runs. When a mutant line sells out it is usually months before we have seed again, so there is no reliable restock date to wait for.
Mutants are a collector and breeder purchase as much as a yield purchase. If you want maximum grams, the feminized photoperiods will beat them.

What actually makes these mutants?
Genuine structural mutations in leaf and stem development, not training. Australian Bastard Cannabis grows thick succulent-like leaves on a compact frame; FreakShow carries a fern-leaf trait. Both are heritable, which is what separates them from a plant that was simply trained oddly.
Do mutant traits always show?
Not in every seedling. Expression varies, particularly in crosses. If you specifically want the phenotype in the photos, grow more than one and select.
Do mutants yield less?
Generally yes compared with a modern commercial hybrid — these are collector and breeder genetics. If maximum grams is the goal, the feminized photoperiods will beat them comfortably.
